Lunar New Year has always been a large celebration in Asian countries and for many Asian communities all around the world. Festivities, big feasts and most importantly, family has always been integral parts of this annual tradition, however this year things will be a little bit different. Although many of us are all at home and keeping ourselves and our community safe, it doesn’t mean that we can’t celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Ox!
AddOilYYC, along with Sing Tao Calgary, the Calgary Chinese Merchants Association and Brian Wong TV, want to see how you, your loved ones or your those in your community are celebrating Lunar New Year creatively this year through the 2021 YYC Lunar Moo Year Online video contest!
Submit a video (max. 2-minutes) that shows off how you, your family and loved ones are celebrating the Lunar New Year safely at home! Stuck on what to do? Here are some suggestions! You can sing a special Lunar New Year song, or even dress up your pets in cute cultural costumes! Make it as creative and as original as possible, but most importantly, don’t forget to have fun! This contest is open to participants of all ages and 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀!
Please submit your videos to calprod@singtao.ca and include your name and/or your Instagram handle (if you have one) so we know who you are! The submission deadline is Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
Our lovely sponsors will be picking out their top 5 video submissions, then it will be up to you, our followers, to pick the top 3 winners by liking and sharing the submission posts that will be posted on the @singtaoyyc Instagram and SingTaoCal Facebook page! The top 3 posts with the most likes and shares will each win very special prizes!
